The Milwaukee Mile,  West Allis, Wi.

This warm Suday afternoon at "The Mile",  The MidAmerican Stock Car Series had a 16 lap "Dash For Cash". The top cars in the series; along with 3 cars from 3 MidAmerican rules tracks. A total of 16 cars raced for 16 laps; with $2000 going to the winner. Ron, driving the Heil Heating and Cooling Products #07 car started midpack at the green. Using racing knowledge gained from the 40 lap feature on Saturday; Ron steadily moved foward through the group of cars and finished 5th. Only a fender out of fourth. A great finish to cap of this 3 day weekend at this, the most important event of our 2006 season. Bill Priezel won this "Dash For Cash"

Forty cars were on hand for this special 40 lap race. Thirty eight cars took the green flag on this historic one mile track. Ron had qualified 14th; which placed him second row outside on the starting grid. At the beginning of the race, it looked like the #07 Monte Carlo was going to be a top finisher. Ron moved up to second place and was closing on the leader. As the laps added up, handling on the car went away. A bad choice of tires by Dale, and the wrong corner entry by Ron, the #07 dropped back to an 11th place finish. After looking back on the day,  11th out of 38 competitive cars isn't so bad.

Wisconsin International Raceway,  Kaukauna, Wi.

This was the third race of the Red, White, and Blue Series. The Port A John Monte Carlo was not the fastest car here. But it seemed like it would stay very consistant all night. And that is just what it did. With smooth driving by Ron, he steadily advanced forward,  missing many senseless spins and wrecks. Ron finished 3rd for the night. This is our best feature finish, to this date, for our MidAmerican racing effort. And this was a good indication of how the car will handle at the upcoming Milwaukee Mile races. James Swan captured the Red White and Blue Series title.

Golden Sand Speedway,  Plover Wi.

Our first time competing at this egg shaped 1/3 mile banked oval. Kenny Richards, the current SLM point        leader, gave Ron some good advice on corner entry and exit. A clear and dry night for racing brought out a large field of cars and the stands were full. The roll of the dice, which determines the front six rows, placed Ron front row outside. Ron gave it all he had and ran in the top four for the first 25 laps. After 3 or 4 yellows and restarts, incidents with lapped cars, and being bumped around by over zealous teen drivers, Ron finished the race in 9th place.

Madison International Speedway, Madison, WI

This was the MidAmerican Stock Cars only appearance at this track for 2006. A perfect night for racing and the fireworks that followed. The #07 of Ron Weyer had a super start to the evening by taking the checkered flag in the second qualifing race. This was Ron's first win in a MidAm sanctioned event. The 22 car 40 lap feature started Ron way back in the 9th row. With this group of competitive cars,  the #07 managed an eleventh place finish. The race was won by Bill Prietzel.

Wisconsin International Raceway, Kaukauna, WI

The Red White and Blue Series is a Saturday night special at this D shaped 1/2 mile paved track.  This was the Red race. The Heil Heating/Cooling Products Monte Carlo of Ron Weyer was running strong and a top 10 car in this 28 MidAmerican car field. James Swan won the 40 lap feature with Ron finishing 10th. No marks, no problems. And 10th isn't so bad since that position pays sponsorship moneys from Pace Trailers. Being a Pace trailer owner and being registered for the program, Ron will be looking for that nice extra check at the end of the year banquet. All the drivers appreciated this support from Pace.

Memorial Day Special

A hot sunny afternoon that made for storms late in the day. The Weyer Racing Crew arrived at the track mid morning, just as the MidAm cars were to pull out onto the track for their 1st practice session. So the 1st time that Ron even saw the pavement, was through the windshield of the #07 car as he pulled onto the racing surface. Our setup was right on, as Ron was able to qualify within one tenth of a second of fast time. A very competitive field of regulars ran this 75 lap feature along with only a dozen MidAm regulars. Ron soon realized that this was as much an enduro as it was the feature race. So, carefully missing numerous accidents and 3 roll overs, the Heil Heating and Cooling Products Monte Carlo finished 9th. Illianna regular Bill Neering won the event.

MidAmerican Season Opener

Lyle Nowak won his 1st MidAm feature this Sunday. Ron started on the inside pole position and ran up front the entire event. The outside line is the preferred lane at this well worn facility, so Ron was initially stuck in the low groove early. Without losing too many positions, Ron was able to pull up into the outside line by lap 5. Now in 3rd place, Ron kept the Port A John Monte Carlo in the top 5 for the full 50 laps. A good start to the 2006 season.
