Blackhawk Farms Road Course, South Beloit, Il.
A two day event over Halloween weekend. The Chicago Region had a free chili supper along with free soda and beer Saturday evening after ther qualyfing runs for all workers, competitors, and crew members. A real nice family deal.
The #07 SCCA Monte Carlo turned in the second fastest lap in practice. There were 14 cars in our group including Corvettes, a Viper, Camaros, and a Firebird. We were all geared up for a fast and fun weekend. In group qualifying, Ron looked just as fast till the driveshaft broke. This caused damage enough to sideline us for the weekend. Our only DNF for the 2007 race season.

Jefferson Speedway, Jefferson, Wi.
The last race program of the year at this speedway was a Lions Club Race. Dale took the MidAm car here and applied what he learned from the June 20th race. The #07 Pioneer Bowl sponsored Monte Carlo qualfied 3rd. Dale felt that as the sun set and the track cooled; he would have the car to beat. And that is just what happened. Dale won his heat race. The feature had Dale starting in the last row. Midway through the 30 lap race the #07 was in the lead and finished 1st place in the main event of the night. Not so much as a tire mark on the car, and two 1st place trophies to show for the effort.
Terry Tucker was very apprecitive for the support and attendence that the Lions members brought to his track. He set up free beer for all drivers when racing was completed. Thanks Terry!

The Milwaukee Mile, West Allis, Wi.
The most prestigious event for the Mid American Stock Cars is the Governors Cup Race at The Mile. This weekend had practice on Friday with qualifying and the 40 lap race on Saturday.
A record number of 52 cars were on hand. Ron turned in a poor qualifying lap which placed him 23rd in the 33 car feature field. The race was a long drawn out, crash filled event. Often racing was only 4 or 5 laps and there would be another yellow. Starting from the rear of the field can be sure disaster for many drivers, since one gets caught up in someone elses sensless accident.
Ron made many smart move throughout the race. It had to be similair to playing dodgeball. The #07 Heil Sponsored Monte Carlo took the checker in 9th place. Ron had advanced more positions than any other competitor.
August 5, 2007
Columbus 151 Speedway, Columbus, Wi.
A Lions Club race where Dale competed in the Pioneer Bowl #07 Monte Carlo. Rain threatened to win this show, but the Sun Prairie Lions Club lucked out and all features were complete before the rains came.
Dale was very careful this day; since the next event for the MidAm car was the Governors Cup Race at the Mile. The feature proved to be a challange with the sandy gravel being tracked out of the pits onto the upper grove of the race track. Dale made his way up to 2nd place and on the white flag lap pulled to the outside of the leader. The slick track just did not have enough traction, so Dale finished in the 2nd place.
July 28-29 2007Milwaukee Region SCCA Cat Nationals
Road America, Elkhardt Lake, Wi.
This was a two day SCCA National and Regional event put on by the Milwaukee Region. There where over 140 cars entered into the program with around 125 in the pit/paddock area. With this many cars and so many types of open and closed wheeled cars; qualifying and races are broken up into 6 groups. Ron was very focused for this event, and it payed off. The #07 Heil Monte Carlo was the fast qualifier in its group on Saturday. This placed Ron on the pole of his race Sunday. At the drop of the green, Ron jumped into the lead and never looked back. Leading all 12 laps on this 4 mile course still took just under 30 minuites to complete. This was our 1st CHECKERED Flag in a sanctioned SCCA Race.

Milwaukee Mile, West Allis, Wi.
A Mid American Stock Car Test Session was run on this Saturday on the MILE. There were around 25 Mid AM stock cars on hand. Drivers were given all the 10 minuite sessions that they could possibly need. Ron did very well. This was the 1st time in 2007 that he drove the Mid Am Stock Car. No problems at all. Plenty of power, handling was great, a good relaxed run. The #07 was one of the faster cars on the track and consistantly turned mid 32 second laps.

Jefferson Speedway, Jefferson, Wi.
A LIONS CLUB Race. These are always fun. Only Lions Club members are driving the cars. Dale last raced at this track in 1977. Alot has changed since then, including a whole new track configuation and new pavement.
Dale did his best and qualified in at 3rd fastest. The heat race was a mess, as he left on the hook with a flat L.F. tire. The thirty-five lap feature was the last race of the nite. With the invert, Dale started on the pole and lead the first half dozen laps. Only one car made his way past Dale, giving him a second place feature finish. Not bad for a guy getting near 60 years old.

SCCA Bonneau Memorial Race
Road America , Elkhardt Lake, Wi.
The double regional SCCA Bonneau Race held at Road America. Double meaning, there was qualifing and a feature race on both Saturday and on Sunday. This was the 1st time for our new SCCA Monte Carlo at Road America. Car ran great with no problems at all. Like with all SCCA events; there are many cars and many different classes. Our class is the "SPO" class. In Saturdays qualifing Ron came in 3rd fastest and in the feature he finished second in his class. Sunday was a repeat of Saturday. The #07 Monte Carlo qualified 3rd and raced to a second place finish. The whole crew was happy on the way this weekend went, and the new group of friends we made at an SCCA event.

Black Hawk Farms Road Course
South Beloit, Il.
This was the first outing for Weyer Racing's new SCCA Monte Carlo. In SCCA a new driver must go through a mandatory certification session before he is issued his competitor license. This can be a full two day afair; but in Ron's case, the second day was waived since he did so well this Friday.
All 35 cars are sent out on the track for four to five 20 lap sessions. Half way through each session; cars were given the green flag and they would race at speed. The last session was a regular green flag start to checker with all out racing.
The Heil Heating and Cooling Monte Carlo was the fastest car in its division and was second overall in speed for the day. And that was with full blown SCCA competing cars. Alot of heads were turned.
An excellent start for 2007, and this new direction for our racing program.
