T.J Haferkorn drove for Dale in the early 1990’s. T.J. always did one of three things; Win – Crash – or BLOW UP. Dale learned early while working with T. J.; when the car needs an adjustment, do something that the driver can feel. And, have plenty of Old Style beer in the cooler.
Gregg Pawelski drove a Weyer Sponsored car from 2001 through 2004. Gregg is a talented young driver who has driven sportsman and modified cars on both dirt and asphalt. Gregg always had some success in each year he drove. But, like many other racers, Gregg learned that it takes more than a good driver to campaign a winning race car. It takes a dedicated crew, lots of time, a pile of money, and the support of those around you.
Anyone who went to Slinger Speedway in the late 70’s knew of the Kannenberg Connection. Jimmy Kannenberg would bring from 2 to 6 cars too the track; and used them in any division he could race them in. Jimmy, always smiling, always laughing, is a sincere friend. His contributions to Slinger Speedway and of helping many drivers is totally overlooked. – and now almost forgotten.
This photo falls into the ‘ Who is Who ‘ category. Dennis Klinkert. Early days of sportsman racing at Slinger Speedway. We sure did have fun !
